Tottenham Photography Club was formed in October 2017 after a brief exchange on a local Facebook group page. I had been given a camera but was having difficulty getting used to it and wondered if there was anyone else in the area that might be in the same position or have some interest in forming a local photography group.

The response was overwhelming and culminated in an inaugural meeting on 18th October 2018, with 17 members in attendance.

Since then the Club has gone from strength to strength, holding monthly meetings where members discuss plans for the Club including monthly ‘Shoot Outs’ – meeting up to take pictures as a group, of a place of interest or to try out a photographic style, and also decide what the ‘theme’ for the month will be.

For example, the theme for January and February was ‘Yellow’ so members added photographs that represented ‘Yellow’ to the Clubs Facebook album.

The members look through the pictures on a projector at club meetings and critique them, giving constructive criticism or asking questions about technique, camera, settings and processes used. Members want the Club to be a supportive space where anyone with any level of skill or interest in photography can feel welcome and supported.

There are no restrictions to becoming a member, all cameras types and styles are welcome and as of yet the Club has no membership fee.
