Issue 6 out now

Here is a letter from the Editor, Ellie Rae Ward, Editor:

It has been an eventful summer for Tottenham. The world-famous White Hart Lane stadium has been demolished and construction work has begun on the new build. Our photography pages (8-9) capture the weekend the local community gathered to celebrate the end of one era and the beginning of another.issue-6-cover

Tensions heightened as Haringey Council pushed through its development plans, in spite of a last minute intervention from local MP David Lammy, who wrote to Council Leader Claire Kober asking her to halt the Haringey Development Vehicle (HDV). Rev Paul Nicolson expresses his views on the HDV on page 10.

For students across Tottenham, it’s back to school. While some parents might breathe a sigh of relief that the long summer holidays are over, others are facing a new challenge. Childcare fees for some have been increased by up to 70%, which is simply unaffordable. We’ve spoken to parents and Haringey Council about the issue. Read more on pages 1 and 2.

On our regular advice pages we look at the court procedure and practical steps involved in reporting domestic violence. We’ve also worked with Citizen’s Advice Haringey to provide advice on universal credit applications and what to do if you’ve been made redundant.

As ever, we are on a mission to cover the stories that matter most to you in Tottenham. To do this we rely on volunteer writers, photographers and artists to get in touch. If you have something you want to investigate, write about or capture in a picture, email me your ideas via:

We also host public editorial meetings to discuss story ideas and to ensure that our readers have the opportunity to influence what we publish. Save the date! Everybody is welcome to attend the next editorial meeting on Thursday 5th October. Email us or check our Twitter feed to find out where and at what time the meeting will take place.
